Two Collections. One Standard.
Activewear shouldn't be a mystery. What touches your skin every day, through every workout and every rest day, should come from somewhere you can understand and someone you can stand behind.
rün is built on that belief. We make organic cotton activewear two ways, through two collections, each held to a standard we can genuinely defend.
rün Origin is rooted entirely in the United States, from organic cotton fields to a family-run artisan shop in South Los Angeles, verified through proximity and some of the strictest regulation in the world.
rün Pure is made with GOTS certified organic cotton and independently certified, clean activewear verified through third-party certification.
Different paths. The same commitment: organic cotton at the core, honesty in every claim, and nothing we can't stand behind.
rün Origin
Organic cotton activewear, made closer to home.
Some of our pieces never cross an ocean. Our cotton is grown organically in the United States, spun and knitted into fabric domestically, then dyed, cut, and sewn under one roof by true artisans, a family-run operation in South Los Angeles. From there, each piece ships directly from their hands to yours.
Every step stays close enough to understand. Close enough to question. Close enough to verify as we grow.
A Shorter Journey
Most clothing is built through distance. A fiber is grown in one country, spun in another, dyed somewhere else, sewn overseas, shipped to a warehouse, moved through another distribution layer, and finally sent to your closet. By the time it reaches you, that journey is nearly impossible to trace.
For rün Origin, we chose a different path. By keeping production rooted in the United States, from organic cotton fields to American heritage mills to a family-run artisan shop in South Los Angeles, we shorten the distance between soil, fabric, maker, and wearer.
Fewer unknowns. Fewer unnecessary miles. More accountability in every stitch.
Organic Cotton, American Soil
This collection begins with US-grown organic cotton.
In the US, organic cotton is not just a marketing phrase. It's part of a regulated farming system. Organic cotton must be grown on land free of prohibited synthetic pesticides and fertilizers for at least three years before harvest. Genetically modified seed is prohibited. Soil health, water quality, and biodiversity have to be actively maintained, not just preserved. And every certified organic farm is subject to annual third-party inspection.
We chose US-grown organic cotton because what touches your skin should begin in a farming system we can understand and document over time. The fiber is not anonymous. It's not buried inside a global sourcing chain we cannot speak to. It starts here.
From Bale to Fabric, Domestically
After harvest, our organic cotton stays within the United States through the entire process of becoming fabric, spun and knitted through American heritage mills.
America still has mills that know how to do this. Legacy operations, some family-owned, some decades in the making, that kept the craft alive when the rest of the industry quietly moved overseas. Mills where the knowledge of how to turn raw fiber into quality fabric is passed down, not outsourced.
By keeping this part of the process within the United States, we support the skilled American workers who never stopped doing this work, and we stay inside a system we can actually engage with, not one buried behind layers of international subcontracting.
Dyed, Cut, and Sewn in Los Angeles
Our fabric is dyed, finished, cut, and sewn under one roof by a family-run shop in South Los Angeles, true artisans of the American garment community. A family operation that has spent decades perfecting the craft, and quietly producing for some of the most recognized activewear brands in the country.
One partner. One roof. One family. One clear path from fabric to finished garment.
We didn't choose South Los Angeles only because it's nearby. We chose it because it gives us a direct relationship with the people making our garments, and because the standards for how a garment gets made there are written into law, enforced by the state, and getting stronger, not weaker.
California has some of the strongest garment worker protections in the country. In recent years, the state expanded its laws to eliminate piece-rate pay in garment manufacturing, require hourly minimum wage for garment workers, and hold brands accountable alongside their manufacturing partners.
California's standards for what can and cannot go into a garment during dyeing and finishing are among the toughest in the world. PFAS, the so-called forever chemicals linked to serious health risks, are banned outright from clothing and textiles under California law. Toxic azo dyes that can break down into cancer-causing compounds are prohibited. Heavy metals like lead, cadmium, and mercury are strictly limited. Phthalates and formaldehyde face severe restrictions.
Our dye house operates inside all of that. Not because we audited them against a checklist, but because California law requires it of anyone doing this work here. Most of the world's activewear is dyed in places where none of these standards exist. rün Origin isn't.
The People Behind It
Every piece in this collection passes through American hands before it reaches yours.
The farmers who tend the soil without synthetic chemicals. The mill workers who have spent careers understanding how fiber becomes fabric. The true artisans at a family-run shop in South Los Angeles who bring genuine craft to every piece.
These are not anonymous workers in a distant supply chain. They're skilled Americans doing work that matters, work that most of the activewear industry quietly moved overseas years ago. When you choose rün Origin, you're choosing to keep that work here.
That is what "made in the USA" means to us. Not a label. A choice.
rün Pure Collection
Organic cotton activewear, independently certified.
rün Pure takes a different path to the same core value: genuinely clean activewear you can trust.
These pieces are made with GOTS certified organic cotton, and the finished garments are OEKO-TEX certified, tested and verified free of harmful substances. Made with trusted overseas partners, each piece is labeled with its country of origin. We don't hide where our garments are made. We tell you, and we back it with certification.
Where rün Origin is verified through proximity, rün Pure is verified through independent, third-party certification. Same commitment to organic cotton and honesty. A different way of proving it.
What Unites Both Collections
However a rün piece is made, some things never change.
Organic cotton at the core. Both collections are built on organic cotton, chosen for softness, breathability, and a natural feel against the skin, and for moving away from the plastic-based activewear model toward something more connected to the land it came from.
A cotton stretch blend, honestly told. Many of our pieces use a blend of organic cotton and a small amount of spandex. Cotton gives the garment its softness, breathability, and natural feel. Spandex gives it stretch, recovery, and movement. We use only what's needed to help the garment move with the body while keeping organic cotton at the center. Where stretch isn't needed, we continue exploring select pieces with organic cotton alone. Transparency means telling the whole material story, not just the prettiest part.
Small runs, no deadstock. We produce in small, intentional runs, and we don't carry deadstock. We don't overproduce hoping demand will catch up later. We make what's needed, when it's needed, and we'd rather sell out of a style than mark it down in a warehouse six months from now. To us, luxury isn't excess. Luxury is restraint, precision, and care. We're not here to flood closets, or landfills. We're here to make pieces that stay in rotation.
Claims we can stand behind. We don't make claims simply because they sound good. If we can't support it, we don't say it. That standard means more to us than any slogan.
A documentation standard. As we grow, we're building a documentation file for rün, including material composition, cotton origin, fabric production, dyeing and finishing confirmation, manufacturing confirmation, and fulfillment. We're also working toward QR-code traceability on every rün garment, so you can scan the tag and trace the journey yourself.
The rün Standard
We're not trying to be the loudest sustainable brand. We're not interested in vague eco language. We're not making pieces designed to be worn once and forgotten.
We're building slowly. Intentionally. Two collections, each held to a standard we can genuinely defend, one verified by proximity, one verified by independent certification, both built on organic cotton and honesty.
Because what touches your skin should come from somewhere you can trace, or something you can verify, and always from a brand willing to tell you the difference.
